The Charity World

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Friday 11.30am-6.30pm (UK time)

CHARITY, according to Social Welfare definition is:
The provision of help or relief to the poor, in the form of money, food, etc.
An organisation set up to provide such needs.

In the United Kingdom, there is a Charities Acts Law which lists 13 ‘descriptions of purpose’ as follows:
  • The prevention or relief of poverty
  • The advancement of education
  • The advancement of religion
  • The advancement of health or the saving of lives
  • The advancement of citizenship or community development
  • The advancement of the arts, culture, heritage or science
  • The advancement of amateur sport
  • The advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation or the promotion of religious or racial harmony or equality and diversity
  • The advancement of environmental protection or improvement
  • The relief of those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship and other disadvantage
  • The advancement of animal welfare
  • The promotion of the efficiency of the armed forces of the Crown, or of the efficiency of the police, fire, and rescue services or ambulance services
  • Any other purposes currently recognised as charitable by analogy…

GOD’S DEFINITION OF CHARITY:
Deut. 15: 7-11 When you happen on someone who’s in trouble or needs help among your people with whom you live in this land that God, your God, is giving you, don’t look the other way pretending you don’t see him. Don’t keep a tight grip on your purse. No. Look at him, open your purse, lend whatever and as much as he needs. Don’t count the cost. Don’t listen to that selfish voice saying, “It’s almost the seventh year, the year of All-Debts-Are-Canceled,” and turn aside and leave your needy neighbor in the lurch, refusing to help him. He’ll call God’s attention to you and your blatant sin.
Give freely and spontaneously. Don’t have a stingy heart. The way you handle matters like this triggers God, your God’s, blessing in everything you do, all your work and ventures. There are always going to be poor and needy people among you. So I command you: Always be generous, open purse and hands, give to your neighbors in trouble, your poor and hurting neighbors.”

Lev. 19: 9-10When you harvest your land, don’t harvest right up to the edge of your field or gather the gleanings from the harvest. Don’t strip your vineyard bare or go back and pick up the fallen grapes. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I AM GOD your GOD.”

Lev. 23: 22 “When you reap the harvest of your land, don’t reap the corners of your field or gather the gleanings. Leave them for the poor and the foreigners. I am God,your God.”

1 Cor. 13: 1-13 Charity is GOD’s love – AGAPE.
Verses 1 to 3 shows that it is possible to give without loving, but like Amy Carmichael said,  “You cannot love without giving.

PRAYERS:
Thank God for charities that are charitable indeed, meeting the dire needs of the downtrodden especially persecuted Christians:  World Vision, Voice of the Martyrs, Barnabas Fund, Stephen centre, etc.
Ezekiel 16:9-26 – Mercy and forgiveness for charities in nations that You have blessed (UK and USA), who use their resources to sponsor ungodly, even terrorist organisations.
Ezekiel 16: 59-63 – Remember Your covenant O Lord, and turn their hearts back.
Raise men like George Muller and more charities wholly dependent on You for sustenance.

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Friday 11.30am-6.30pm (UK time)

Father God, thank You for salvation and the call unto discipleship. Thank You for the cross of Christ that reconciled us to You. Thank You for wanting to perfect the work You already began in us, which is, to make us to become like Your Son Jesus, in life and in character. Thank You, Lord.

Prayer For Disciples
Mark 3:13
Please Lord, satisfy the hunger and thirst of Your disciples - to be with You, to know you, to be taught by You and to be sent wherever You will. Please, strengthen their determination and resolve to follow, no matter their circumstances or tribulations.

2 Cor.5:14
Lord, please let the experience of the cross ever be so fresh in the hearts of Your disciples. Bring it always before their eyes. Cause the knowledge and the experience of the cross be more and more real in their hearts and lives, making Jesus His disciples only focus, bringing them to total love and obedience to their Lord.

Lk.11:1- Disciples called to prayer.
Father, renew the love for prayers and supplications in the hearts of Your disciplers. Baptise them with the spirit of prayer; fill in them with the Holy Spirit. Cause Your disciples to be ever hungry for the place of prayer, in Jesus’ name.

Lk.14:31- Disciples called to prayer.
Jesus made it so clear that there is a war raging between the kingdom of God and that of darkness.
Lord, please help Your disciples to fully understand this in order not to be sluggish in arising in total obedience and following. Every fleshly compassion tying disciples down to mother, father, brother, sister, children, be broken in Jesus’ name.

Matt.11:29
Lord, please help Your disciples all over the world to hold on to their resolve of laying down their all in order to enter Your rest, by learning of Your humility and gentleness.

Jn. 6:36
Lord, help Your disciples to fully understand the purpose and the will of God who has called them in Christ Jesus. Help them to totally absorb and embrace the will of the Father so that they will carry it out day by day and finish it, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer For Disciplers
Lord, Your grace has brought the disciplers thus far; they have left all and followed You , while more and more, they are still learning Christ every day. Please let Your grace continue to uphold them. Let their light to continue shining brighter and brighter before the disciples and before men. Let the life of Jesus be so well expressed in them, in Jesus’ name.

Please Lord, fill the lives of Your disciplers with Your presence. Bring them fully into Your counsel and fill them with grace for Your work. Hear the cries of their hearts for men to be made; cause them to be effective in representing the Kingdom.

Please Lord, cleanse and purge Your disciples and disciplers from the love of mammon for the sake of the coming revival; that nothing will stop Your move in our time, in Jesus’ name - AMEN.

Why is it important to invest prayers for students?
Adolescence and young adults experience a myriad of changes occurring simultaneously and in rapid succession.  It is a period of making crucial choices that can make an indelible mark on their life and destiny. Focus is emphasised on all aspects of their lives except their eternity.

Peculiarities about this age:
  • A time for making choices and decisions.
  • Prime time for laying foundations (career, marriage, destiny).
  • A season of great strength, zeal and vitality.
  • A crucial stage for perspective taking and querying.
  • A season for warfare i.e. where do I pitch my tent? Christ or Baal?

Other issues that confront students at this stage:
  • Their capacities for thinking and reasoning begin to mature.
  • Their social worlds expand as peer groups become more important.
  • Emotional responses become more intense.
  • Development of a sense of self identity (spiritual identity, self esteem, self efficacy, body image).
  • Formation of character and direction.
  • Reaching legal driving age and then legal adulthood.
  • Leaving their family home and establishing independence.
  • The true self emerges with precipitants such as sense of freedom from leaving home and peer pressure.
  • Meeting and establishing lifelong friends.

What is the counsel of God for students?
  • Do not let the excitement of being young cause you to forget about your Creator. Honour Him in your youth before the evil years come—when you will no longer enjoy living. (Eccl 12:1 TLB)
  • If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Ps. 11:3 KJV)

Prayer Points:
  • Help our students make the decision to pitch their tent with CHRIST.
  • Make it clear that they are in the midst of a raging battle-: battle for their SOUL; battle for their HEART; battle for their focus; battle for their affections and mind.
  • Let it dawn on students that the enemy wants to be part of their foundation laying.
  • Open the eyes of our students to understand that a tampered foundation may be irreversible and the best time to destroy a glorious future is in the youthful days.
  • Raise an alarm in their hearts of the need to sincerely and fully partner with CHRIST if they are to become something in life.

School Children

Listen to this HeartCry message

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Friday 11.30am-6.30pm (UK time)

Psalms 127:3  "Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."
  • Thank the Lord for the gift of children; appreciate Him for all that He has done in the lives of our children.
  • Thank God for the testimonies we have heard concerning our children.
  • Thank God for the persecuted children - more strength and grace upon their lives, and a daily in-filling of the Holy Spirit as their helper, standby, strengthener, advocate, teacher, counsellor and comfort.

Two categories of children:

Children of light (new creation) and children of corruption (Adamic race).

Matt. 2: 19-20 Now when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, ‘Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child’s life are dead.’”

Luke 2:40 “And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
  • Father, please protect these little ones. Keep them and watch over them. Shield them from the eyes of the wicked one.
  • Make our children grow and wax strong in spirit, filled with wisdom and grace. Matt 2:46-47.
  • Lord, as you fill our children with Your Spirit, make them bold in their faith. Make them rooted and grounded in the things of Christ so that they will not be tossed to and fro by false teachings.

Evil communication corrupt good manners.

1 Cor. 15: 33-34a “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not;”

2 Chronicles 10: 6-11
  • Lord, please separate the children of light from the children of Adamic race who deliver evil counsel to them and have been sent out on assignment to destroy our little ones. This could be through making friends.

Youngsters love their friends and can do anything to protect their friendship.

  • Cause our children to harken unto godly counsel only.
  • Father, make our school children who have been taught the things of Christ to be non-receptive to any negative teachings that is delivered to them, be it from their teachers or school mates.
  • Please empower them spiritually.

Deny Yourself:

1 Samuel 3:1 –15
Samuel was a little boy who could deny himself of his sleep to hear the Lord.
Today, our children are easily carried away by pleasure. Even to harken to a call while they are awake for some, is a challenge most especially when they are engaged with gadgets, movies or friends.

The ways and thought of the Lord is different from that of man. While parents make excuses and prevent their children from being exposed to the hard truth and reality of what is really happening, the Lord is no respecter of any man - He can reveal his burdens to children.
The devil also understands that the children are best recruited when they are young, so he exposes them to the things that can only lead to their destruction. He strategy is “CATCHING THEM YOUNG.”
  • Lord, reveal Yourself to our children. Make Yourself known to them. They are not too young to know You personally. Be merciful unto them.
  • Let the fear of You begin to arise in our children. Let them not fall victim to the subtlety of the devil.
  • Begin to give them understanding of what it means to deny themselves.
  • Honour Your name in their lives as they preach the message of the cross to their school mates.
  • Let them experience divine manifestation of the Holy Spirit. For the children which you have given us are for signs and wonders.
  • Let our children not be attracted to the things of the world anymore but hunger more and desire the things of God.
  • Let our children never deny themselves of their true identity in Christ.
  • Use them to confront their mates and teachers with the things of Christ; for greater is He that is in them than he that is in the world.
  • Make them Josiahs, Daniels, Samuels, Josephs, Davids, who will confront with boldness and stand firm against anything that defiles the name of the Lord in their generation.
