The Church - A Call to Repentance

Join this HeartCry Prayers - Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 11:30am - 1:30pm (Uk time)

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)
14 if my people, who are called by my name,
will humble themselves and pray and seek my face
 and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven,
 and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Joel 2:1-17, Revelations 2 and 3

When the Lord calls for repentance, it’s because there is forgiveness. God is always looking for a way to forgive!
When the Lord’s call to repentance is ignored, there are consequences.
Jesus Himself called the church to repentance on several accounts

Rev 2:5 - The church of Ephesus: carrying on without their first love
  •  Lord, in Your mercy bring Your church to true repentance. Open the eyes of the church to her lack of love for You and the danger of carrying on with activities, services and other labour without Your love burning in the heart.
  • Lord, baptise the church with the spirit of repentance – let her have sight of her sins so that repentance can be deep and genuine.
  • Lord, help the church to see where she has fallen from, so that there will be sorrow and mourning and true repentance.
Rev 2:16 – The church of Pergamos: the compromising church, adopting and making allowances / excuses for doctrines of demons. Strange practices arising inside the house of God.
  •  Lord, have mercy on Your church for every compromise. Pour out Your Spirit to convict the church of compromise with strange doctrines, non-biblical doctrines, immorality. Lord, have mercy!
  • Lord, cause there to be repentance that results in a turning from every wickedness in the church.
  • Lord, let there be repentance with mourning for every evil perpetuated in church leadership that has led many people astray.
Rev 2: 21- The church of Thyatira:  corrupted by false prophets and prophetesses.
  •  Lord, have mercy on the church for every evil that has brought corruption, pollution and contamination. Have mercy on the church for allowing strange spirits to perform miracles in Your name.
  • Lord, bring the church to repentance for allowing the spirit of Jezebel to parade itself as Your prophet. Lord, have mercy!
Rev 3:3 – The church of Sardis: the dead church that is carrying on as if it’s alive.
  •  Lord, have mercy on the church for carrying on with dead works, works tarnished by the flesh and the world. Have mercy on the church for forsaking the complete gospel, the gospel of the cross that deals with the old nature and its dead works.
  • Bring the church to repentance for embracing a gospel that celebrates dead works.
Rev 3:19 – The church of the Laodiceans: the lukewarm church, blind to its real condition and its need of the Lord- the breeding ground for much evil.
  • Lord, have mercy on the church for its lukewarmness – not cold, not hot, not here, not there!
  • Have mercy on the church for its self-sufficiency and lack of insight to the real condition.
  • Lord, bring the church to the point of genuine repentance for every sin, every evil work and wickedness that has been breeding because of lukewarmness.

Revive Thy Work O Lord

Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Thy mighty arm make bare;
Speak with the voice that wakes the dead,
And make Thy people hear.

Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Disturb this sleep of death;
Quicken the smold’ring embers now
By Thine almighty breath.

Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Create soul-thirst for Thee;
And hungering for the bread of life
O may our spirits be.

Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Exalt Thy precious name;
And, by the Holy Ghost, our love
For Thee and Thine inflame.

Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Give Pentecostal showers;
The glory shall be all Thine own,
The blessing, Lord, be ours.

Children, Teenagers and Young People
- Stephen

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 11.30am -1.30pm (UK time)

“Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.” (Acts 6:3)

“...Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost…” (Acts 6:5)

“And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.” (Acts 6:8)

“And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.” (Acts 6:10)

“And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.”(Acts 6: 15)

“But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.” (Acts 7:55-56)

“And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.” (Acts 7: 59-60)

The Dimension of the Holy Ghost

“But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;(Joel 2:28-29)

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:”  (Acts 2:16-18)

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” (Acts 2:38-39)

Empty Versus Full

“Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full” (2 Kings 4:3)

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” (2 Corinthians 4:7)

         The Holy Ghost will only fill empty vessels.

         Men who are full, content, occupied, satisfied with their state will not cry out for the Lord or for the Holy Ghost.

         Such men don’t see the need, or the reason why they should be crying and begging God to be filled.

         If you present the Holy Ghost to them, they will shrug Him off because they do not realise they are in need of Him.

         Even if we pray for them now and continue to cry as long as they are completely full of self, full of the world’s expectation of them, full of their own aspirations and ambitions outside of God, there will be no space for the Lord to pour into.

Prayer Points

         Empty our young men and our young women of everything that has filled them up instead of You.

         Open the tap of their lives and empty them of all ambitions, aspirations, plans, desires that are not in line with God’s purpose for their lives.

         Our young adults, teenagers, children are completely filled and satisfied with what the world has to offer. Lord, make them begin to have a distaste for what the world and its systems offers them.

         Change their taste, O Lord! We plead with You in the name of Jesus; let them begin to hate, reject, discard, turn their backs on everything and anything that has occupied the space that God ought to occupy in their hearts, minds and imaginations.

         Create a hunger and a thirst for You, Your purpose and Your kingdom, instead wanting to build my own kingdom; let their desire be "Thy Kingdom come, O Lord in me, by me and through me."

         Baptise our young men, our young women, our teenagers, our children with the Holy Ghost and with power.

         Father, pour Your Holy Spirit upon them in bodily form in a way they have never experienced before.

          Lord, You promised in Joel and it happened in Acts; we are standing upon Your promises. Please baptise them with fire from on high.

         We are actually waiting for You. Your promise was for every member of the family, young, old, male or female. Lord, we present our children before you this day. Please dear Lord, do not withhold from us. Pour upon Your heritage; fill them up to overflowing with the Holy Ghost and power.

         Holy Spirit, we welcome You afresh on behalf of our young ones; O Lord, please hear us we pray in the name of Jesus.

The Sick and Infirm

Join this HeartCry Prayer - Every Monday - Wednesday and Friday11:30am - 1:30pm (UK time)

1 Corinthians 11: 23-32. “Anyone who eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Master irreverently is like part of the crowd that jeered and spit on him at his death. Is that the kind of “remembrance” you want to be part of? Examine your motives, test your heart, come to this meal in holy awe. If you give no thought (or worse, don’t care) about the broken body of the Master when you eat and drink, you’re running the risk of serious consequences. That’s why so many of you even now are listless and sick, and others have gone to an early grave. If we get this straight now, we won’t have to be straightened out later on. Better to be confronted by the Master now than to face a fiery confrontation later.” (MSG)

James 5; 14-15. “Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”

Repentance: For not discerning the Lord and His suffering and death.
Faith: To pray for sick brethren for miraculous healing.

  • Lord, we come in repentance for all your people who are afflicted with one form of sickness or the other, especially in their bodies or minds. Whichever way the enemy gained an upper hand due to carelessness or their weak connection with You, please Lord forgive and have mercy. Restore their hearts to You. Take away condemnation of the enemy and replace it with genuine repentance, confession and forsaking of sins to obtain mercy and receive strength in the inner and outer man. LORD HAVE MERCY.
  • Lord we come by faith to pray and receive healing for Your afflicted people. According to Your promise of James 5:15. “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” Please save and heal them from all their afflictions and oppression. Forgive their sins and cleanse them spirit, soul, and body. Give them a vengeful heart against the wicked one (devil) that took advantage in the time of their weakness. Amen.

Philippians 2:25-30. “Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants. For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick. For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful. Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation: Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.”
  • Lord, have mercy on Your servants who are sick because of the much labour on their hands. Like You mercifully healed Epaphroditus, please heal them so they can carry on in selfless labour towards You and Your saints. Amen.
  • Lord, we also pray for our loved ones who have not yet received the Gospel and are ill in their bodies. For Your mercy's sake, please touch their bodies and preserve their lives from death so they can receive the Gospel to save their souls.
  • We pray for our loved ones that are on their death bed. Please Lord, reveal Yourself to them in this weak period of their lives. Prevail over the enemy and touch their hearts unto salvation so they can be with You in heaven when they pass on. Amen.
  • Mention the names of the sick around you and plead for them in whichever category they may fall in their sickness. Let the mercy of God prevail and let them receive a miracle of healing; spirit, soul, and body. Pray for them by faith to receive from the Lord who went about doing good. Amen.

Thank YOU Lord JESUS, Our Great Physician. We give You praise for all You do to help Your people and to restore us back to health when we are sick. May we always love and serve You while we are in this body, and may we live with You forever in heaven when we leave this mortal body. THANK YOU LORD!

Matthew 4:24. “And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them."
