Gangs and Gang Leaders

Hebrews 4:16 (AMP) – “Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favour] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment]”.

Hebrews 4:16 (MSG) – “Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help”.

Titus 3:1-2 (MSG) – “Remind the people to respect the government and be law-abiding, always ready to lend a helping hand. No insults, no fights. God’s people should be bighearted and courteous”.

Prayers

  • Cry out to God in mercy on behalf of this nation of people – “Gangs and Gang leaders”.

  • Isaiah 43:25-26 - "I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. 26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified”. Lord, we are still pleading for Your mercy; we are asking for this because You are our Great High Priest and also because these souls are Yours; and mostly because You do not desire that any soul should perish, but that they repent and live; we plead that You forgive them all as they are entrapped and at the will of the enemy.

  • Hebrews 7:24-25 – “But Jesus lives forever and continues to be a Priest so that no one else is needed. He is able to save completely all who come to God through him. Since he will live forever, he will always be there to remind God that he has paid for their sins with his blood”. Lord Jesus, You who saved Saul of Tarsus and Nicky Cruz, You are able to save even this nation. As You are their only Priest and Eternal Saviour, please plead their case with Your Father – their Father, Your God – their God. Please open Your book of remembrance concerning this Your people as You became the only sacrifice that could be offered for even the sins of these lost souls. Therefore let Thy blood, Your precious blood, begin to speak as an atonement for their many sins; thank You for being their Advocate before God Thy Father.
  • The work of salvation is of God and not of man. Holy Spirit, send out unto them God’s labourers – men and women of salvation, who will draw them unto the Way, bring them unto the Truth and show them the Life that is only attainable and acceptable in Christ.

  • Proverbs 21:1 - As their hearts are in Thy hands Lord, set unrest into their hearts until they come to the place of obedience in Christ; open their eyes to see the choking of their sinful works around them and against God Almighty.

  • Holy Spirit, begin Your Calvary work upon them; drain out every carnality (spirit of violence/rebellion) inside of them; flush out every strength that is of the evil one in them and fill them with the light of Christ; keep them at the place of the Cross, feeding them with Your spiritual milk and strengthen them – Acts 9:18-19a; daily keep them at the place of the Cross and of the blood, so that they have the full effect of it.

  • Lord, may they not escape the Gospel of repentance – full complete repentance – so that they do not go back to their vomit; therefore Holy Spirit, baptize them into Your repentance; activate their soul unto repentance so that they may live Your kingdom life.

  • Lord Jesus, when You encounter a sinner, You desire genuine repentance. Hence Lord, in Your mysterious way, offset the heart of the old nature inside of them and reset in preparation of a new heart. Cause divine surgical circumcision to take place; inject godly sorrow of repentance into their hearts that will take away every trait/character that is not of Christ in them.

  • Thank You for this great mysterious deliverance that You shall wrought inside of them and upon them O Lord, for only You is able to do all these. Thank You God for the victory that is available to them through Jesus – Alleluia!

  • Holy Spirit, in obedience to Christ, align and re-align their will into God’s will; help them to begin to walk in Your holiness and in Your righteousness, so that they too can also begin to bear fruits unto Christ.

Prayers Against the Destructive Spirit of Rebellion

Isaiah 15:23a – “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft…”

Isaiah 30:1 – “Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin…”

Lord Jesus, this was and is Your declaration unto them who dwell in rebellion; rebellion tends to dwell among so many of Your people, mainly the youths. It tends to be the order of the day when situations arise. Those that You have put in authority (parents/carers/guardians/government/establishments) are helpless to put this spirit under control. We are not ignorant of the devices of the devil as Your Word has told us that, "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."

And so Lord, we pray this day that because You have been made the Head above all principalities and powers, rebuke this evil spirit in the hearts of men. Help them Holy Spirit to turn to God so that they can forsake this spirit – repent of its ways, as they receive mercy.

As Your Word has warned us that rebellion darkens the spiritual eyesight of a man and it deafens the ears from hearing God’s voice, Lord, Your Word is clear that judgement will come upon the rebellious - "And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house."

And so our Great Deliverer, please come with Your delivering power and rebuke this demonic spirit. [Please pray as the Holy Spirit gives you utterance against this evil spirit]

Gangs

Who are gangs/gangsters? What makes up ‘a gang?’

According to Wikipedia – “A gang is a group of good friends or family with identifiable leadership and internal organization, identifying with or claiming control over territory in a community, and engaging either individually or collectively in violent or illegal behaviour.” Gang leaders get their junior members to do dangerous things. Members talk about being part of a family, but they can turn their backs on each other in a heartbeat.

Youth gangs control crime on the streets. They deal in drugs, prostitution, and are involved in other illegal activities. Gang members lead very dangerous lives. They carry weapons (knives, guns), steal cars and other property, and are always on the run—from the police and other gang members. Discrimination and racist attitudes are behind some gang violence.

According to the UK Home Office, along with other government departments, imminent work is going on to reduce gang and youth violence in England and Wales. “Too many young lives are blighted by violent crime. Gang members carry out half of all shootings in the capital and 22% of all serious violence. We want to reduce gang-related crime and stop young people becoming involved in violence. We are committed to making our communities safer places for everyone.”

Any reference to them in the Bible? What does the word of God say concerning them – their characters? Psalms 1:1; Proverbs 1:10-19; Proverbs 13:20; 1 Corinthians 15:33; 2 Corinthians 6:14-17; 2 Timothy 2:26; Psalms 11:5.

Ungodly; sinful ways; scorners.

Loves shedding blood; waylay the innocent for no reason; evil-minded; greedy.

Foolish and bad company of friends leading them into trouble.

They become entrapped by the devil and become captives of his will.

Love violence with all passion.

Letter from a desperate youth seeking repentance.

“I'm a gang member. I do dope, drink, and fight. The police have brought me in for many things including attempted murder. I've never been charged with anything because the victims have always dropped the charges. In gang fights, I've almost killed people, but I've never gone that far. My parents know none of this. Can God really save me from all the crimes I've done? There have been some crimes I've committed and no one knew about them. Does God know? Can I still go to heaven even though people call me a convicted criminal? I also want to know if there is a way out of the gangs. Please help me.” — Name withheld [extract from Christian Answer.net]

Is there hope even for this nation of gangs or gangsters? Yes, the same mercy and grace that located Saul of Tarsus is available unto/for them.

See how Jesus met him – Acts 7:58 [he was the overseer of the coats of the executioners who stoned Stephen to death.

See how he became wild in his sinful ways - Acts 8:1-3.

See how the Lord of Host called him to reckoning - Acts 9: 1-6.

See what God told Ananias about Paul – verse 15-16 of Acts 9.

See the testimony of Paul as he said to Agrippa as it is written – Acts 26:9-20 (TLB).

Prayers

Having called them out – having called out all these God’s generals (Moses/Samuels/Pauls) – having called out these seed of revival that are in the hands of God, let us pray unto God in mercy:

1.    Lord, baptize them with Your Gospel of Your grace – salvation – born again.

2.   Lord, activate Your divine repentance into their hearts; baptize them unto Your gospel of repentance, keep them at the place of the Cross.

3.  Hebrews 8:10-11 (TLB) – Write Your laws into their hearts so that they will know what You want them to do; keep Your laws in their hearts O Lord for them to obey; be merciful to them in their wrongdoings and remember their sin no more as it is written concerning them; baptize them in and with Your righteousness so that they will walk into Your will for their life.

4.  Draw them unto You – the Cross – Your Calvary life, so that the Gospel of Your kingdom will come to them too, and they will be granted the grace to live Your kingdom life and lifestyle.

A Cry for Our Families

Join this HeartCry Prayer - Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 11:30am - 1:30pm (UK time)
There was a certain man of Ramathaim-zophim, of the hill country of Ephraim, named Elkanah son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite. – FAMILY LINEAGE
He had two wives, one named Hannah and the other named Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had none. – FAMILY LIFE
This man went from his city year by year to worship and sacrifice to the Lord of hosts at Shiloh, where Hophni and Phinehas, the two sons of Eli, were the Lord’s priests.
When the day came that Elkanah sacrificed, he would give to Peninnah his wife and all her sons and daughters portions [of the sacrificial meat].
But to Hannah he gave a double portion, for he loved Hannah, but the Lord had given her no children. – RELIGIOUS LIFE OF THE FAMILY
[This embarrassed and grieved Hannah] and her rival provoked her greatly to vex her, because the Lord had left her childless.
So it was year after year; whenever Hannah went up to the Lord’s house, Peninnah provoked her, so she wept and did not eat.
Then Elkanah her husband said to her, Hannah, why do you cry? And why do you not eat? And why are you grieving? Am I not more to you than ten sons? - FAMILY ISSUES AND CONTENTIONS.
So Hannah rose after they had eaten and drunk in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on his seat beside a post of the temple (tent) of the Lord.
10 And [Hannah] was in distress of soul, praying to the Lord and weeping bitterly.
11 She vowed, saying, O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your handmaid and [earnestly] remember, and not forget Your handmaid but will give me a son, I will give him to the Lord all his life; no razor shall touch his head. - PRAYER BURDEN FOR OUR LIVES AND FAMILIES
11 And she vowed a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if Thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of Thine handmaid, and remember me and not forget Thine handmaid, but wilt give unto Thine handmaid a man-child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.” (NKJV)
GLEANINGS FROM THIS PASSAGE
  • God recognised the family of Elkanah and had full knowledge of the lineage of that family. God also knows our family and the lineage of our homes.
  • God knew the family life and condition of Hannah’s home. Our Heavenly Father is not ignorant of the state of our families. Whether good or bad, He has cognisance of the matter.
  • God was not quiet about the spiritual/religious condition of Hannah’s family. He knew the religious façade of the home. Elkanah been an Ephraimite was a polygamist. Penninah who went yearly to Shiloh and offered sacrifices was tagged as an adversary with a provocative character. God knows the same about our families too.
  • Even amid these things, God separated Hannah unto Himself. For our family to be deeply affected God must achieve something tangible in us that can be multiplied.
  • Hannah experienced great generosity from Elkanah but that was not enough, she wanted a child.
  • Hannah was discontented with the gifts and generous portions given to her by Elkanah. She deeply desired and wept sore for not just any child but for a man-child. God has been immensely generous to us by giving us the mystery of the gospel in different dimensions but it is not enough to have this generous portions, we want this reality to be conceived not just in our spiritual womb but to be a visible reality that will come forth to affect our families and beyond.

 PRAYER FOCUS
  • Father, thank You for our family. Thank You for being aware of all that has happened and is happening in our family.
  • Thank You, despite all these happenings. You brought us to a saving knowledge of full salvation in Christ Jesus. You exposed us to the mystery of the gospel not just to make us free and victorious but to be an open door to our family for this gospel to be birth.
  • Father, we thank You for dealing with us as You did to Hannah. God was dealing and decluttering her to bring forth that which will affect her family and the nation of Israel.
  • Father, we bring our families to You as we travail over them. Please bring forth an experience that will change their hearts.

MY FAITH HAS FOUND A RESTING PLACE

1.My faith has found a resting place,
Not in device or creed;
I trust the ever-living One,
His wounds for me shall plead.

Refrain:

I need no other argument,
I need no other plea,
It is enough that Jesus died,
And that He died for me.

2. Enough for me that Jesus saves,
This ends my fear and doubt;
A sinful soul I came to Him,
He’ll never cast me out.

3. My heart is leaning on the Word,
The living Word of God,
Salvation by my Saviour’s name,
Salvation through His blood.

4. My great physician heals the sick,
The lost He came to save;
For me His precious blood He shed,
For me His life He gave.

Youth

Join this HeartCry Prayers - Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 11:30am - 1:30pm (Uk time)

DEFINITION OF YOUTH:
The time of life when one is young, but often means the time between childhood and adulthood (maturity). In Europe, it is between age 16-30.

The Time of Youth is:
  • A time of laying foundations for every aspect of future life.
  • A crucial time that determines what happens for the rest of your life.
  • A time of dependency / age of choices.
  • Age of consent – to sexual acts.
  • Age of voting
  • Age of questioning everything.
  • Age of claiming wiser than parents and even God.
  • Age of self-focus
  • Age of majority – competitive time to proving something.
  • Age of the right to drive – age at which a person can apply for a driver’s license.
  • Age of drinking – alcoholic beverage can be consumed or purchased.
  • Age of candidacy – legal qualification to hold certain elected government offices.
  • Age of criminal responsibility.
  • Age of permanent formation within.
  • Age whereby everything that a person will become in future and his destiny is rooted.
  • Age when God’s eyes are is focused on a person to affect and prepare him or her for a glorious future.
  • A targeted time for the devil to destroy a person’s future through a wrong foundation.

Any youth that makes the Lord his or her choice will always overcome
 in every sphere of life.

Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth,
Before the difficult days come,
And the years draw near when you say,
‘I have no pleasure in them.’” (Ecclesiastes 12:1 NKJV)

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11 For by me your days will be multiplied,
And years of life will be added to you.
12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself,
And if you scoff, you will bear it alone.”  (Proverbs 9:10-12 NKJV)

A good foundation for life consists of the FEAR of God and the KNOWLEDGE of God.When these are not in place, their future will suffer much. Even if at last they find their way back, valuable time would have been wasted.

I have written to you, young men,
Because you are strong, and the
word of God abides in you,
and you have overcome the
wicked one. (1 John 2: 14b NKJV)

Only the youth that allows the word of God to be the lamp to their feet and light to their path will overcome the wicked one that has targeted their youthful age to destroy it.

Prayer Points
  • Let us thank God who has given us the 'womb of travail' for our youth and children in general.
  • Let us ask God to give them a heart of flesh that is teachable.
  • Let us pray that their heart will accommodate the fear and the knowledge of God in Jesus’ name.
  • Pray that the contention of devil over our youth will fail, in Jesus’ name.
  • The intention of devil is to destroy their lives with alcohol, sex, abortion, drugs, discouragement and suicide. Pray that these weapons will not work over our youth any more.
  • Let us pray that our youth will no longer make experiments with their lives, saying, “If I do this, what will happen? If I want to have sex, I can protect myself now; I can try smoking like my mates; after all, I am no longer a baby. Why can’t I wear what I like? After all, I have a good figure with long legs...” etc.
  • Pray that the hearts of our youth will be shifted to God; that the eyes of their understanding will be enlightened to make the right choice, not the way of the world, in Jesus’ name.
  • Ask God to give them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him that makes right choices in life.

Children, Teenagers and Young People
- Rods in their Youth

Join this HeartCry Prayers - Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 11:30am - 1:30pm (Uk time)

Listen (MP3) and pray along

All the revivals of the Old and New Testaments and of centuries past have been traced. See the link: http://nationsheartcry.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/europe-give-me-this-mountain-rods.html

It shows categorically that children and youth are the vital forwards in the army that usher in revival in any generation. The question is: what about the 21st century? Can revival happen in our time through our youths? The conclusion is'Yes!'

Psalm 110:1-7 (KJV)

"The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemiesThy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. He shall judge among the heathen; he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries. He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore, shall he lift up the head."

The Lord has been showing us the missing dimension(s) in the life of our young people. He has detained us there and not allowed us to move to any other nation of people.
  • Firstly, He used the life of Stephen to show us that there is the missing dimension of the baptism of the Holy Ghost that turns a man into an agent of transformation in our young people. He said they are filled with all sorts hence there is no space for the Holy Ghost and we prayed for the Lord to empty them and baptise them.
  • Secondly, He showed us the missing dimension of discipleship that took Timothy’s genuine faith which was imparted by parental discipleship to another level of ministry under the hand of Paul.
    • We prayed for the Lord to let the faith that our children collect from us be genuine; that they would not despise their youth; and that they would be an example of the believer. Our prayer is that the Lord will make us the 'Pauls' (and send us the 'Pauls') under whose hand our 'Timothys' will blossom and become fellow brothers or labourers.
  • Thirdly, He showed us the importance of being the correct audio/visual aids for our young people, like Mordecai was to Esther.
    • We prayed, "Lord overwrite every idea of child upbringing that is from the old man and the world system and let the New Man in me begin to give detailed instructions on how He wants to handle His own children." For it is God who is the parent now.
    • We prayed, "Do not let me postpone or delay the out workings of the mystery of the gospel in my life anymore, so that I will not portray anything of the old man unto the young people around me."
    • Eli missed it with his sons by not correcting them. He should have disrobed them and taken the office from them, but instead he was fattening himself up on the proceeds of their sins.
    • Solomon was one of the products of David's dead works which were not decluttered quickly. The Lord forgave David and even called Solomon His beloved. The dead works of David, His father, were amplified to the 'nth degree' in Solomon.
    • Samuel could not escape this. His sons took bribe and the sins of the clergy made an entire nation to reject the rule of God when they demanded a king.
  • Fourthly, we prayed for our young people who have gone AWOL and begged the Lord to show us mercy.

Why the Recap?

It has suddenly dawned on us that the Lord is very deliberately repeating the same matter over and over again on several platforms. He has said in the beginning of this year that He will send His rods out of Zion to rule in the midst of Europe.

God wants to reach out with the gospel to the young people, why? To bring them to Calvary, to evacuate them of the old sinful life and fill them with His divine life, to disciple them and to pour the Holy Spirit upon them. Why?

They are the vital front soldiers in any move of God in Europe and in all the nations of the world.

1. They must discover the Word of God for their personal lives.

John the Baptist and our Lord Jesus Christ discovered what was written concerning them in the Word.

Luke 3:1-2
Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

John 1:19-23 (Isaiah 40:3)
And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

Hebrews 10:5-7 (Psalm 40:6)
Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Luke 4:16-22 (Isaiah 61:1-2)
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

  • The Word of the Lord must come to our youth before they can become the frontline foot soldiers in this outpouring we are trusting God for.
  • It must be a personal, specific, individual revelation of the complete Mystery of the Gospel, and all it has come to accomplish in their lives.
  • It must be a personal, specific individual revelation of what their purpose is in God’s agenda for their generation.
  • Yes, they will be guided by the human hands that God places them under, but it must first of all come to them personally.
  • They must first of all discover it from Scriptures themselves. It may be through their individual quite time, family altar, church services, youth meetings, online meetings or discipleship meetings.
  • Suddenly one day, as the Word of God comes to them through all these different avenues, their hearts, eyes and ears will be open to catch a revelation of the truth of God’s Word for their own personal lives and begin to run with it.
  • God has no another tool with which to engage His young people, except His Word.
  • Our job as 'Pauls', as handlers for them, is to give them the undiluted Word, not graded down because they are children.

2. There is hammer of the right size for each young person.

Jeremiah 23:29
Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

Prayer Points

  • Lord, send the hammer of the correct size to break open the hearts of Your young people.
  • Send Your word to shatter and scatter everything in the hearts of Your young people that has made them at ease with the state of their lives, the state of their faith and the state of their walk with You.
  • Send Your word to dismantle every structure that the world and its systems have already begun to build in their impressionable hearts, in the name of Jesus.
  • Send the gospel in its entirety, its fullness and its completeness to Your young people and save them.
  • Bring all our 'churched' children to Calvary, we beg You. Please Lord, use any avenue to bring the mystery of the gospel to them, O Lord, we pray. SAVE OUR 'CHURCHED' CHILDREN.
  • God will you please bypass parents, pastors, youth workers, children's teachers and structures within the church that are hindering you from reaching these young people. Break down the barriers and send Your Word to them as You did to Samuel.
  • Create an insatiable hunger and thirst for You, Your Word and the gospel in their young hearts, in the name of Jesus.

3. Their hearts must be opened.

Luke 24:45
Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures. (KJV)
Then He [thoroughly] opened up their minds to understand the Scriptures. (AMPC)

Acts 16:14
One of those who listened to us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a dealer in fabrics dyed in purple. She was [already] a worshiper of God, and the Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul. (AMPC)

One woman, Lydia, was from Thyatira and a dealer in expensive textiles, known to be a God-fearing woman. As she listened with intensity to what was being said, the Master gave her a trusting heart—and she believed! (MSG)

Prayer Points
  • Lord, crack open the heart of our young people to receive Your word, for those whose hearts are solid.
  • Lord, some of them still have tender hearts. Please gently open it to receive Your Word.
  • Lord, let them pay close attention to the truth that is being poured into their lives on different platforms and by different people.
  • O Lord, grant them understanding of the Scriptures, O Lord, we beg you, open their minds. Every other thing should give way to the Word of God in their minds, in the name of Jesus.
  • Give them a heart that trusts and believes the Word of God verbatim.
  • Let the faith of the little children which Jesus commended by directed towards your word. Let them believe your word with their child like faith that believes everything and anything.

4. Their hearts must tremble.

Isaiah 66:2
My hand has made both earth and skies, and they are mine. Yet I will look with pity on the man who has a humble and a contrite heart, who trembles at my word. (TLB)

Prayer Points

  • Lord, let the hearts of Your youth begin to tremble at Your Word; let them begin to have respect, fear, reverence for Your word as to quickly obey it.
  • Lord, when their errors (sins) are pointed out, please grant them grace to repent, to broken before you like David, not to maintain a proud, stubborn heart like Saul.
  • For our children who have gone AWOL:  Bring to their remembrance any residue of the Word of God that they previously heard, previously memorised and previously engaged with. Let their hearts begin to tremble, fear and break down in genuine repentance upon remembrance of Your Word.
  • Holy Ghost, You use the Word of God to convict men of sin and judgement. Please use any residual word in the hearts of our prodigals to bring them to repentance in the name of Jesus.
  • For those still under the ministry of Your Word, please use Your word to break their stubbornness and pride; let them begin to tremble in repentance, in the name of Jesus.
  • Let them begin to know that You are Your word and if they disobey Your word, they are disobeying You.

5. What is my role?

John 17:19
And so for their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate, consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified (dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth.

DECLUTTER EVERY SINFUL HABIT IN THIS PERIOD OF GRACE

Deuteronomy 11: 18-20
Remember my words in your hearts and souls. Write them down and tie them to your hands as a sign. Tie them on your foreheads to remind you. Teach them well to your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and walk along the road. Talk about them when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on your doors and gates.

TEACH THE MYSTERY OF THE GOSPEL WITH INTENSITY AND IN ITS ENTIRETY, BY WORDS AND BY LIFE.

Galatians 2:20
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

I MUST NOT FRUSTRATE THIS GREAT GRACE AVAILABLE TO ME.

Prayer Points

  • Lord, help me to maximise this period of grace to ensure the complete obliteration of any dead works still hanging about in my life and to bury them out of sight.
  • One of the reasons for my decluttering is that  - where my 'Sarah' is buried is where my 'David' will be crowned as king. Lord, for the sake of these young ones, O Lord,I beg You give me courage in the Holy Ghost to put dead works out of sight.
  • Grant me understanding of these truths that you are revealing to me; help me to maintain my stand with daily 'Morning by Morning' with You, with regular 'Alone with God' with You, where you can open my ears as You did for Jesus. (Isaiah 50:4, Mark 1:35)
  • Do not let me stultify, deaden, nullify, reject, ignore, turn back, set aside or misapply this great grace that is being revealed to me.
  • Holy Spirit, please make me an able teacher of Your word; help me to create space deliberately in my household to teach the children every time, everywhere at every opportunity, the mystery of the gospel.
  • Let the gospel work fully in my life so that I can teach not only by words but by my life.

Occupy Till I Come : Media Industry

What is Media?
A means of transmitting information from one group or individual to another group or individual. In the modern world, "media" principally has come to be recognized as radio, TV, newspapers, magazines and the varied forms of advertising (hoardings, leaflet drops etc.). New forms of media are being experimented with and are developing rapidly. (E-mail, interactive video etc.)

Why media ministry?
It is the fastest means to proclaim the good news to "every nation, tribe, language and people." (Revelations 14:6). To achieve success, we must "meet people where they are"(location).

Just a Finding
The average weekly media consumption in Britain is approximately 75 hours per person. Half listen to radio every day, three quarters read a daily newspaper, and about 98% of British households possess at least one television set. The average time spent in Christian thought or church attendance?  If people are no longer attending church, are reticent to attend public meetings, are scared to open their front door to a friendly knock; the media offers an avenue to allow a Christian viewpoint inside the home.

Luke 19:13 (KJV)  “And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.”

Hebrews 1:1-2 (AMP)  “God, having spoken to the fathers long ago in [the voices and writings of] the prophets in many separate revelations [each of which set forth a portion of the truth], and in many ways) has in these last days spoken [with finality] to us in [the person of One who is by His character and nature] His Son [namely Jesus], whom He appointed heir and lawful owner of all things, through whom also He created the universe.”

God used many approaches to send His messages to people in the Old Testament times. He spoke to Isaiah in a vision (Isaiah 6:1-13), Jacob in a dream (Genesis 28:10-27) and to Abraham and Moses personally (Genesis 18; Exodus 31:18).And in this day, is revealing His will through our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 4:1-5 (KJV) –  I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”

Prayer Focus

Ø   Increased opportunities to impart the truth through media and for lives to be changed.

Ø   The Christian media professionals will be true witnesses of the gospel to their colleagues.

Ø   Effective discipleship of young Christians who are looking to build a career in, or will be working with, the media.

Luke 19:11-27 (AMP)

“While they were listening to these things, Jesus went on to tell a parable, because He was near Jerusalem, and they assumed that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately [as soon as He reached the city]. So He said, “A nobleman went to a distant country to obtain for himself a kingdom, and [then] to return. So he called ten of his servants, and gave them ten minas [one apiece, each equal to about a hundred days’ wages] and said to them, ‘Do business [with this] until I return.’  But his citizens [the residents of his new kingdom] hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to be a king over us.’

When he returned, after receiving the kingdom, he ordered that these servants, to whom he had given the money, be called to him, that he might find out what business they had done. The first one came before him and said, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’ And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you proved yourself faithful and trustworthy in a very little thing, you shall [now] have authority over ten cities [in my kingdom].’ The second one came and said, ‘Lord, your mina has made five minas.’ And he said to him also, ‘And you shall take charge over five cities.’ Then another came and said, ‘Lord, here is your mina, which I have kept laid up in a handkerchief [for safekeeping].  I was [always] afraid of you, because you are a stern man; you pick up what you did not lay down and you reap what you did not sow.’ He said to the servant, ‘I will judge and condemn you by your own words, you worthless servant! Did you [really] know that I was a stern man, picking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow? Then why did you not [at the very least] put my money in a bank? Then on my return, I would have collected it with interest.’

Then he said to the bystanders, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to the one who has the ten minas.’ And they said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas already!’  [Jesus explained,] ‘I tell you that to everyone who has [because he valued his gifts from God and has used them wisely], more will be given; but from the one who does not have [because he disregarded his gifts from God], even what he has will be taken away.’ [The king ended by saying,] ‘But as for these enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them, bring them here and kill them in my presence.’

Prayer Points

Ø  Father, thank You for the calling You have placed on the lives of many Christians to serve You in the media across all of its expressions.

Ø   We thank You for the media and the opportunities it creates. We thank You for the Christians who work in that world day in day out, striving to live lives of integrity and humility.

Ø We give thanks for all who report, evaluate, interview, challenge and investigate on our behalf; for correspondents, photographers, technicians and engineers, movie producers and directors.

Ø   Father, You spoke to all humanity through the life of Jesus, we pray for those who speak and communicate by the media that they will be source for You to communicate through to the world in this time.

Ø    The Lord has asked and trusts them to occupy till He returns! Lord, as You have trusted them to occupy and fill in for You, Father give them Your heart for the nations and souls.

Ø     Lord, make them profitable for You.

Ø    Father, please ensure that Your investment of Your word, the full gospel and the Holy Spirit are not squandered or wasted in their lives.

Ø     Dear Lord Jesus, help them not to hide what You have given them or misuse it.

Ø  Help them to be trustworthy and faithful in the “very little” You have assigned to them.

Ø   Lord, please do something to their hearts that they won’t be found wanting in Your service.

Ø   Father, let then have a picture in mind of their audience and work with their strengths and limitations in mind. (Acts 17:16-34. 1 Corinthians 9:19-23).

Luke 21:15(KJV)  “For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.”

Titus 1:9 (KJV)  “Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.”

Ø    Father, give them a mouth and wisdom which cannot be gainsaid.

Ø We pray that the information which they relay to us will increase our understanding, that understanding will increase our compassion, and that compassion will move us to action so that the God of all time and all peoples may be seen and known.

Ø  Let them be effective followers of You; shining as a light, in what are at times, dark places.

Ø   May they know Your encouragement as they work in areas that can be discouraging and challenging to their faith.

Ø    As they face the challenge of their work, may they know Your protection and may they be hallmarked by integrity.

Ø    Thank you, Father, that You promised never to leave us on our own, so please send the Holy Spirit afresh to those who are Your followers working in the media. May they know You as their counsellor, their friend, the one who stands alongside them.

Ø   Sovereign, revealing Lord, we thank You for the power for good of words and of images, and we lament the ways they are used for evil purposes.

Ø    As we cry to You for truth, grace and justice in places of suffering, locally and globally, we ask that You grant that people of goodwill in the media may love truth, mercy, and justice. And we especially ask that You would so infuse those who love Christ with Your Spirit that their words and images may effect positive transformation in all the places where they are seen and heard.

Ø  Grant them great grace to use their profession for Your glory as a means and tool to propagate the Gospel.

1 Thessalonians 1:5 - "For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.”

Ø   The Holy Spirit will help them speak the proper words as they spread the truth of God’s Word (Luke 12:12).

Ø   Father, give them the Spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind so they can boldly proclaim the message of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 1:7–8).

Ø    Father, let their hearts be inditing a good matter so that they may they speak of the total Gospel; make their tongues the pen of a ready writer (Psalms 45:1).

Ø   We pray that You would continue to move powerfully in the media.

Ø    May the story tellers and the poets reflect Your redemptive story.

Ø   May the journalists and the bloggers write with a passion for justice, seeking truth rather than just headlines.

Ø   Father, we pray for the producers and the directors, that they will receive inspiration from the Holy Spirit to create movies that will cause the heart of men to seek You again and captivate their hearts for Christ (Exodus 31:1-2).

Ø  Father, we take the territory of the movie industry as a tool to preach the complete Gospel.

Ø    Lord, may they be true witnesses for and of You in all they do.

Ø   Father, we pray against every limiting factor whether they be physical or spiritual.

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:18–20).

Ø Father, we pray that the media industry will be used as a tool for the multiplication of discipleship.

Ø   Lord, we pray for speed.
