Timothy 2:1-7 New King James Version (NKJV)
2 Therefore I
exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of
thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour,
4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the
truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the
Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in
due time, 7 for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am
speaking the truth in Christ[a] and not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in
faith and truth.
1 Timothy 2:1-7 Living Bible
(TLB)
1Here are my directions: Pray much
for others; plead for God’s mercy upon them; give thanks for all he is
going to do for them.2 Pray in this way for kings and all
others who are in authority over us, or are in places of high responsibility, so that we can live in peace and
quietness, spending our time in godly living and thinking much about the Lord.[a] 3 This is good and
pleases God our Savior, 4 for he longs for all to be saved and
to understand this truth: 5 That God is on one side and all
the people on the other side, and Christ Jesus, himself man, is between them to
bring them together, 6 by giving his life for all
mankind. This is the message that at the proper time God gave to the world.
7 And I have been chosen—this is the absolute truth—as God’s
minister and missionary to teach this truth to the Gentiles and to show them
God’s plan of salvation through faith.
1 Timothy 2:1-7 The Message (MSG)
2 1-3 The first thing I want you to do is
pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for
rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be
quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is
the way our Savior God wants us to live. 4-7 He wants not only
us but everyone saved, you know, everyone to get to know the truth we’ve
learned: that there’s one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God
and us—Jesus, who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin,
to set them all free. Eventually the news is going to get out. This and this
only has been my appointed work: getting this news to those who have never
heard of God, and explaining how it works by simple faith and plain truth.

and/or high responsibility-

Matthew
9:36-28
36 But
when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they
were weary[b] and
scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He said to
His disciples, “The harvest truly is
plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore
pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
- As You have instructed, Lord, we give thanks for those in positions of authority and high responsibility. We thank You because You love them and have paid the price for their salvation. We thank You, Father, because there is still hope of a mighty harvest of souls among this nation of people.
- Father, we thank You for Your gracious heart towards all men because of the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. We thank You, Lord, because the state of the incapacitation of these ones is ever before You and You long for them to hear the gospel and be saved. We thank You because it is good and it pleases You that prayers, supplications and intercessions be made for these ones today.
- Lord, we thank You because You see a plenteous harvest among these people. You see disciples, You see Your Peters, Your Pauls, Your Lydias and Your Marys among them.
- Lord, we pray for all these people in positions of high responsibility. We ask for open doors for them to hear the gospel of Christ, the complete gospel, THIS GOSPEL. We ask for a move of Your Holy Spirit among these ones to bring repentance and salvation in their midst.
- Lord, we pray that Your grace which brings salvation will appear to these ones (Titus 2:11) and turn many of them from darkness to light and from Satan to the Living God.
- We pray for peculiar conversions among these ones, like that of Paul. Appear to many of them in an undeniable manner that will transform their lives and propel them to preach THIS GOSPEL.
- Today, we make intercessions for these ones and we stand in the gap for them, asking for mercy on their souls. Many of them have been vessels in the hands of Satan against the cause of righteousness and justice but we seek mercy by the blood of Jesus Christ.
