The Church

Join This HeartCry Prayer - Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 11:30am -1:30pm (UK time)

Matthew 3:7-10 (NIV)
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. 9 And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. 10 The axe is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

Matthew 3:7-10 (AMPC)
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee and escape from the wrath and indignation [of God against disobedience] that is coming?
Bring forth fruit that is consistent with repentance [let your lives prove your change of heart]; 9 And do not presume to say to yourselves, We have Abraham for our forefather; for I tell you, God is able to raise up descendants for Abraham from these stones!10 And already the ax is lying at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Deliver the church from her presumptions (Matthew 25:1-13, Matthew 3:9, Obadiah 1:3)
  • Lord, forgive the church for the sin of presumption concerning Your warnings. You are speaking loud and clear, cause the church to take heed and arise quickly.
  • Open the eyes of Your people, Lord, to the situation around so that the church can shake off every presumptuous attitude. Anoint our eyes with eye salve so that the true state of things is clear and not vague or misunderstood. Let the gravity of Your will dawn afresh on Your church.
  • Lord, deliver the church from empty claims- claims that are not resulting in changed lives. (Gal 6:15; Revelations 3:17-18)
  • Lord, expose Esau in the church so that we will stop sowing to Esau expecting to produce Israel. Deliver the church from this presumption.
Deliver the church from complacency (Matthew 3:10; Isaiah 32:9-11; Isaiah 52:1-2)
  • Holy Spirit, breathe new life into the church and deliver us from complacency. Baptise us with Your fire and set hearts aflame, hearts that will burn and shine for Your kingdom’s cause in these evil last days.
  • Let there be a season of true repentance in the church; a repentance that will produce a complete change of direction for the church. Help the church to return to Christ and His Gospel of The Cross.
  • “The axe is laid to the root…”- the handwriting is on the wall! Lord, cause the church to wake up to urgency and seriousness of the times we are in now.
  • Arise and set the church in motion, o Lord! Revive Your zeal in Your church, Lord.
  • Arise, O Zion, put on your strength (Isaiah 52:1-2). Shake off the dust of your complacency and arise, shine, for your light is come (Isaiah 60:1).
Lord bring the change needed to the church… (1 Sam 16:13-14)
  • Lord, for Zion’s sake, bring the change in leadership in the church where it is needed. Let the ‘Sauls’ give way to Your ‘Davids’ so that Zion can be established.
  • Lord, appoint Your apostles and prophets in the church who will defend the purity of the gospel of Christ. Revive Your church again!
  • Holy Spirit, resign the old prophets and those self-appointed apostles who are polluting the church. Don’t allow Your people to follow leaders whom You have rejected. Revive Your church again!
  • Spirit of Christ, change the direction of the church in our day. Give us new hearts, more love, more passion for souls. Let the preaching of the cross centred gospel become the sole occupation of the church again. Lord, make the church the custodian of the Cross-Centred gospel once again. Revive Your church again!
  • Cause the church to arise with tears and groans and fasting and cause a spirit of prayer and intercession to lay hold of us. Let there be widespread travail for souls and warfare for the kingdom like never before until the Lord returns.

REVIVE YOUR CHURCH O LORD!

    Revive Thy Work O Lord

1.      Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Thy mighty arm make bare;
Speak with the voice that wakes the dead,
And make Thy people hear.

2.      Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Disturb this sleep of death;
Quicken the smold’ring embers now
By Thine almighty breath.

3.      Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Create soul-thirst for Thee;
 And hungering for the bread of life
 O may our spirits be.

4.      Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Exalt Thy precious name;
And, by the Holy Ghost, our love
For Thee and Thine inflame.

5.      Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Give Pentecostal showers;
The glory shall be all Thine own,
The blessing, Lord, be ours.
