The Sick and Infirm

Join this HeartCry Prayer - Every Monday - Wednesday and Friday11:30am - 1:30pm (UK time)

1 Corinthians 11: 23-32. “Anyone who eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Master irreverently is like part of the crowd that jeered and spit on him at his death. Is that the kind of “remembrance” you want to be part of? Examine your motives, test your heart, come to this meal in holy awe. If you give no thought (or worse, don’t care) about the broken body of the Master when you eat and drink, you’re running the risk of serious consequences. That’s why so many of you even now are listless and sick, and others have gone to an early grave. If we get this straight now, we won’t have to be straightened out later on. Better to be confronted by the Master now than to face a fiery confrontation later.” (MSG)

James 5; 14-15. “Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”

Repentance: For not discerning the Lord and His suffering and death.
Faith: To pray for sick brethren for miraculous healing.

  • Lord, we come in repentance for all your people who are afflicted with one form of sickness or the other, especially in their bodies or minds. Whichever way the enemy gained an upper hand due to carelessness or their weak connection with You, please Lord forgive and have mercy. Restore their hearts to You. Take away condemnation of the enemy and replace it with genuine repentance, confession and forsaking of sins to obtain mercy and receive strength in the inner and outer man. LORD HAVE MERCY.
  • Lord we come by faith to pray and receive healing for Your afflicted people. According to Your promise of James 5:15. “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” Please save and heal them from all their afflictions and oppression. Forgive their sins and cleanse them spirit, soul, and body. Give them a vengeful heart against the wicked one (devil) that took advantage in the time of their weakness. Amen.

Philippians 2:25-30. “Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants. For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick. For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful. Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation: Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.”
  • Lord, have mercy on Your servants who are sick because of the much labour on their hands. Like You mercifully healed Epaphroditus, please heal them so they can carry on in selfless labour towards You and Your saints. Amen.
  • Lord, we also pray for our loved ones who have not yet received the Gospel and are ill in their bodies. For Your mercy's sake, please touch their bodies and preserve their lives from death so they can receive the Gospel to save their souls.
  • We pray for our loved ones that are on their death bed. Please Lord, reveal Yourself to them in this weak period of their lives. Prevail over the enemy and touch their hearts unto salvation so they can be with You in heaven when they pass on. Amen.
  • Mention the names of the sick around you and plead for them in whichever category they may fall in their sickness. Let the mercy of God prevail and let them receive a miracle of healing; spirit, soul, and body. Pray for them by faith to receive from the Lord who went about doing good. Amen.

Thank YOU Lord JESUS, Our Great Physician. We give You praise for all You do to help Your people and to restore us back to health when we are sick. May we always love and serve You while we are in this body, and may we live with You forever in heaven when we leave this mortal body. THANK YOU LORD!

Matthew 4:24. “And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them."
